- Collecting, experimenting, practicing, and brainstorming
- In-class memoir drafting
- Independent first draft due via google docs by 3:30PM
- Revising
- Editing
- Revised memoir due at the end of class via google classroom
- Revising with teacher comments
- Final printed memoir due (See below for final draft packet guideline)
- Writing Celebration
Memoir Guidelines. Your memoir should...
- Be written in 1st person
- Be 2-4 pages in length
- Include an original, creative title
- Have a clear structure including a beginning, middle, and end
- Focus on one or more collected small moments that express a larger meaning about growing up in New York City
- Be edited to show off all that you know about grammar, punctuation, and spelling conventions.

- Editing checklist
- Final typed personal narrative
- Any and all earlier drafts, plans, and revision work
