Friday 9/8—Thursday 9/14
  • Collecting, experiment, practicing, and brainstorming
Monday 9/18—Tuesday 9/19
  • In-class narrative drafting
Wednesday 9/20
  • Independent first draft due 
Monday 9/25-Friday 9/29
  • Revising and Editing
Monday 10/2
  • Final published narrative due at the beginning of class (See below for final draft packet guideline)
Friday 10/3
  • Publishing Party

Memoir Guidelines. Your memoir should...
  • Be written in 1st person
  • Be 2-4 pages in length
  • Include an original, creative title
  • Have a clear structure including a beginning, middle, and end
  • Focus on one or more collected small moments that express a larger meaning
  • Be edited to show off all that you know about grammar, punctuation, and spelling conventions.

Final Draft Packet should include in this order from top to bottom
  • Rubric
  • Editing checklist
  • Final typed personal narrative
  • Any and all earlier drafts and revision work
